Equipment Introduction
Designed for the front end of starch processing lines, this machine performs essential washing, destoning, and peeling functions. Utilizing a horizontal rotating drum structure, it achieves high-efficiency cleaning through a combination of the material's self-tumbling friction and scouring by high-pressure water sprays.
Key Technical Highlights
Segmented Cleaning Design
The drum is engineered with two distinct zones: a Soaking Zone and a Spraying Zone. The entry section maintains a specific water level to soak and soften dried, hard mud, while the exit section employs high-pressure jets to thoroughly blast away stubborn soil.
Intermittent Spiral Conveying
The inner wall of the drum features intermittent spiral guide plates. This design not only controls the conveying speed to ensure sufficient residence time for cleaning but also maximizes the tumbling friction of the tubers to effectively remove sand and peel the skin.
Effective Waste & Stone Discharge
An external collection trough is positioned beneath the drum. Muddy water and separated stones are discharged directly through the drum slots/perforations, preventing them from moving downstream with the raw material. This ensures excellent solid-liquid separation.
Robust Transmission Structure
Available with either Gear Drive or Friction Wheel Drive options. Both systems ensure smooth, stable, and low-noise operation. The drum support wheels are manufactured from high-wear-resistant materials, offering a long service life and significantly reduced maintenance costs.
Working Principle
Raw materials enter the rotating drum via the inlet. As the drum rotates, the tubers are lifted to a certain height and then dropped. During this continuous lifting and falling process, the materials rub against each other and the drum walls, stripping away surface soil. Simultaneously, cleaning water flows in a counter-current direction or is sprayed via nozzles. Waste passes through the drum perforations, while the cleaned materials are automatically propelled toward the discharge outlet.
